Laundry Day!

Let me tell you a little bit more about my life at Tagore!

We have free laundry facilities here- located in our washrooms.

But just because we have washers and dryers, doesn’t mean they always work 🙂 In the past 2 months, here are some pointers that I have come to learn:

  • If there is standing water in the washing machine, don’t use it!
  • If the power button on the outlet is not red, then the machines won’t work!
  • If you get a washing machine to work, plan for a 2 hour cycle.
  • If your clothes get stuck in the washer (and you spend 20 minutes trying to crank open the door), simply pull the little tab sticking out of the bottom of the machine and it will magically open!

Hand washing is always the best policy, and it is essentially to hand wash anything you buy here- they will  stain your other clothing.

Finally, who needs a dryer that takes another 2 hours when you can hang everything on the railings! I think it adds some nice color to our hallways 🙂

We have gotten used to stiff and wrinkly clothing!

Bet you never thought you’d see the day you WANTED to do laundry at home! Interfaith Dinner was tonight – you’d have loved it – Next year!
